One of the current (and we think the most brilliant) landscaping trends is the idea of outdoor living spaces. A patio can be so much more than just a convenient spot to put the bar-b-que. Kelowna’s temperate climate really allows the opportunity to create and extend our living spaces in unique, gorgeous ways.

Tips for stunning, functional outdoor designs:

• Take cues from the outdoor environment as well as from your interior design. That way, the two spaces will meld seamlessly and your newfound outside area will really feel like an extension of your home.
• Choose your materials carefully. Think about temperature, moisture, the kind of maintenance you’re willing to do, etc.
• Consider all the senses – not just what you see. Do you want fragrant flowers, the soothing sound of a water feature, or perhaps outdoor speakers to play your favorite music?
